โ“ Common Questions

Labour Law Compliance: questions we hear

Are the Labour Codes in force?
Yes. The four Codes (Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security, and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions) came into force on 21 November 2025, consolidating 29 central labour laws. Central Rules were notified in May 2026.
Which rules apply in my state?
Both central and state rules apply. Where a state has not yet notified its rules under a Code, earlier state-level procedures generally continue in the interim. Status differs by state and by Code, so we track it for you.
Do we need to re-register?
Existing registrations and licences generally remain valid but may need intimation to the registration authority. We list what applies to you and by when.
