Who qualifies for disability benefits under EPF?
▼
Any EPF member who suffers from permanent disability (partial or total) while in service, or who has a pre-existing disability recognized by medical authorities, can claim special benefits. The disability must be certified by a competent medical board (e.g., Civil Surgeon, Medical Board).
Can I withdraw PF immediately if I become disabled?
▼
Yes. There is no waiting period for withdrawal due to disability. You can apply for full PF withdrawal as soon as the disability is certified, without needing to be unemployed for 2 months.
Is there any minimum service period for disability pension?
▼
No. If the disability occurs while in service, you are eligible for monthly pension under EPS even with less than 10 years of service. The pension is calculated as if you had completed 10 years.
What is the disability pension amount?
▼
The pension is calculated on the basis of your pensionable salary and deemed service of 10 years. You also get a disability pension supplement. We can help compute the exact amount based on your case.
Can I claim both PF withdrawal and disability pension?
▼
No. It's an either-or choice: you can withdraw your PF and EPS contribution (if less than 10 years service), OR you can take monthly disability pension. Withdrawal is immediate; pension is lifelong. We help you choose the best option based on your needs.
